Inspired, I am

Whilst catching up on admin and perusing the interweb, I came across some makeups that made me feel inspired…

I love being inspired.

Over the past week, I have been very inspired…mostly by the people I have been privileged enough to have worked with, namely:
Fiona Waddell, Mary Gouveia, Mike Ordye, Alice (Max Models), Latisha Duarte and last, but not least Bryan Little.
Its been a truly amazing week filled with inspiration!!

I hope you week is filled with it too <3

Fathers

Ok, so it’s no where near Fathers Day, but I think its about time we take a moment and think about them, these fathers of ours…

Now, I don’t know what your relationship is like with your father. He may been the man that deserves the ‘Best Father in the World Award’. He may be a fireman, a businessman, a preacher, a DIY guy, the stay-at-home husband kind, or just a sperm donor? So what ever he his - good or bad, lets take a moment and be thankful that he is one half of the reason you are here (reading this blog)!

My father is a thinker, a problem solver and a scholar of light and dark. I have been spending some time with my father lately (which is obviously the inspiration for this post). It has been an enlightening experience - excuse the pun! (the majority of our conversations these days are lengthly talks about fermions and bosons and dark matter, in lay persons terms its about astrophysics.)

Although we don’t always take the same thinking path to reach our mutual conclusions, and we fight a battle or two along the way, I am learning to see the light in the darkness. I am learning that they way he reacts to things is simply a mechanism of protection, because he too, is a simply sensitive guy. And we are more alike than we know!

If I have a problem - he is my go-to-guy. Sure, battles are fought, but we fight on the same side of the war at the end of the day.
If you open a dictionary, he is not the picture you will see next to “father” - but who saids thats a bad thing? My dad has afforded me many things in my life. He is a very big part of the reason I am who I am today (whether by defiance or acceptance). He is who he is. He is my father, and I love him! He is one half of the reason I am here today (writing this post).

Once upon a time, A (free) neutron shuddered and shaked in a moment of dark matter set free two little bits of a magic - a proton and an electron. And together they took over the universe. From darkness comes light…

I know most of you are going “What the hell?” That’s ok because this is not about my unconventional analogies of my relationship with my father, its about your conclusions with yours. Take some time today and think of a your dad and how he affects your story.

Filing Season

I have been up since the early hours this morning sorting through all the files and folders on my computer. My new computer. My teeny tiny teeny weeny computer.

There is nothing like a good “decluttering-session” to get the head ready for a busy season. And yes folks, I do believe it will be a busy one…

Whilst sorting through my referencing files filled with delightful pictures of made-up faces in a multituide of hues, I continued to reference for the up-coming season’s latest make-up/hair trends.
Here are some of my favourite for Spring/Summer 2009:

It’s all about the roses…

Bronzed is…BRONZED.

Now I’m off to go declutter the closet!

Enjoy

lost treasure

While looking for some old documents, I came across a postcard of an artist whose work I fell in love with while travelling through the America’s in 2006. From the moment I first saw his work in a Santa Fe gallery I was inspired. Inspired in what exactly, I have no idea. But there was defiantly a defining shift in my being. Having just experienced the same soul shifting looking at the card, I am once again inspired. This time I may actually use the inspiration. His name… is St Victor.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do…

love this!

While browsing the www in search of new inspiration, I came across this talented illustrator from Japan. Her name: Audrey Kawasaki. Her work has inspired me to get creative. So that is what I am off to do… Enjoy! x

bright lights

So spring has spung, although late, I do believe it is finally here…

Here are two of my spring/summer 08 inspirations from cosmetic houses Dior & Clarins. I do love this bright, fresh colour approach.
