Last looks of London | Kristin Vicari
For those of you who don’t know, I have been pottering around London (as well as various other destinations on a whim) for the past few months…but I fly away on Monday.
In the interest of having something to show for my time away, I have been shooting with London-based, Louisianan-born, dear friend and talented photographer, Kristin Vicari.
What a wonderful little team we make, and I’m a little (ok, a LOT) sad that I wont be here to shoot more magic from next week! Although, I have a feeling I will have to come back soon.
watch out for the magic, which will be published on the site, soon.

Local Produce | Chaoss Film Accessories
Finally, no more need to order set bags and accessories in from over-the-ocean. See, we can still do our part on minimizing our carbon footprint while purchasing the ever essential set-bags and other handy tools to make our life easier!
Enter: Chaoss film accessories.
“A proudly home grown product range for all make-up artist, hair stylist and stylists.”
Choass accessories have been specifically designed by those in the know. Natasha and Monique have both been in the trenches of the make-up department for many years, and they have developed, and adapted several uniform bags and accessories to make like more convenient for themselves and their peers.
And I have been advised, that should you have a bright idea for a customed-designed bag or accessory, they can have it made for you!
They deliver any where in the country and can deliver right to your doorstep!
I haven’t personally tried any of their accessories, however, my ever roaming eye, questioning tongue and news absorbing ears, have only ever heard good things. And I can assure you all that next time I have a look into my stock cupboard and decided I need to get rid off all my mix-matched bags (or that I simply don’t have enough bags and accessories…which I kid myself into on a regular basis) I will be acquiring myself some of this range!
Although their website is still currently under construction, you can visit them on Facebook and “LIKE” them to recieve updates on new products, sales, promotion and limited additions. In fact, I do believe their is a sale on at the moment…and who doesn’t love a discount ;)
For any enquiries please e-mail or phone the girls directly on.

Although I am constantly on the lookout out for fabulous new products, I have to admit that I very seldom actually read the beauty segments in magazines…I do however look at the pictures. So, when I do actually find a blurb that catches my eye, I remember it.
A few years back, I read about an eponymous makeup brand called Ellis Faas, developed by renowned Dutch make-up artist, Ellis Faas who works with the likes of Mario Testino and Karl Lagerfeld to name a few.
The entire collection is based on Human ColoursĀ®. The colours in the range are reminiscent of freckles, veins, and blood, with the idea being that because we all share these same colourings, the colours become universal to all skin types and tones.
While in London, biding my time, I found myself in Liberty’s beauty department, and low-and-behold, I came across the Ellis Faas counter…and decided to acquire for myself a few of these bullet-packed products. I was pleasantly surprised with the durability of the eyeshadows, concealer and foundation. I went back to purchase the signature “Blood Red” lipstick, and really enjoyed that too. Although, as yet, have not had to opportunity to prove the theory that one colour can suit all, but I plan to try it out on my next shoot (check back for images soon).
I will be going back to buy the foundation and concealer, not only for the product, but for the packaging. Finally, and ingenious concept, not to loose your make-up in your bag. Each pen comes as a silver bullet and you can purchase a container that holds all the bullets, including the foundation and the powder caps it off.
Sadly, its not available in South Africa as yet, however, if you have the opportunity to purchase any of this great brand, I highly recommend it!
